Gene Raymond Rentrope was born again in March 1978 and was baptized in the Holy Spirit in the summer of 1983. He preached his initial sermon in January 1984 at Ambassador Cathedral Church
Under Pastor Thomas L. Branch. In May 1985 Pastor Rentrope graduated from Word of Faith Bible Institute in Dallas, Texas under Pastor Robert Tilton. Pastor Rentrope was ordained an Elder at Mount Zion Christian Church under Pastor Donald Q. Fozard, Sr. From 1985 – 2001, Pastor Rentrope served at Mount Zion Christian Church in leadership, outreach ministries such as street crusade, door to door witnessing, prison ministry, nursing -rest home ministry. He has preached in the streets of New York City; Atlanta, Georgia; Washington, D.C.; Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh, North Carolina.
Gene and his wife, Gloria, began Christian Revival Church, July 8, 2001 in the Apex Community Center, Apex, North Carolina. Now entering into our eighth year, God has given Pastor Rentrope a new vision, a new location, new ministries and new people to perfect in their God-given purpose and calling. He loves God and His people. CRC is a place where God’s love reigns and rules for all people. Gene has an obsession to teach people to love as Christ has commanded us to love in John 13:34-35. Gene knows that only love can conquer hate and what the world needs is love, God’s love.
Gene is committed to developing the saints into their kingly and priestly authority in the earth.
THE PASTOR’S WIFE
Gloria H. Rentrope was born again in 1976 and has served at Mount Zion Baptist Church now Mount Zion Christian Church in leadership, outreach ministries and a co-director of the Little Angels of God Choir for over twenty-six years. Gloria is a graduate of Hosanna Bible College at Mount Zion Christian Church in Durham, N.C. Gloria has an undergraduate degree (BA) in Psychology, Sociology and Education from North Carolina College (now North Carolina Central University) in Durham, N.C.; Masters of Science in Social Administration from the School of Applied Social Sciences now the Mandel School of Social Work, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. In addition, Gloria has done advanced studies in such areas as women’s and children’s issues and counseling. Gloria has worked as a social worker for over 40 years in Ohio and in North Carolina. Gloria has retired as a Clinical Social Worker from the University of North Carolina Hospitals where she worked for over thirty-one (31) years in the area of women and children services. Upon retirement, Gloria received the Longleaf Pine Award which is the highest citizen award given by the Governor of North Carolina to persons for service of excellence.
Gloria will provide leadership over all of the Women and Children Ministries at Christian Revival Church such as (1) Spiritual Prenatal Ministry; (2) Teen Pregnancy Ministry; (3) Women’s Prayer; (4) Nursery, and (5) Counseling.
